Alabama led by David Carr came back from a 17 - 7 halftime score to win against Memphis on New Year's Eve night, led by thier defense they turned a bad play into a great play.
On 3rd and goal in th 3rd quarter Darren Sproles fumbles on the one yard line. It was recovered by Memphis.
However the Kings tryed a run play up the middle and Grady Jackson takled the back in the endzone for a safety. Giving the Gladiators 2 points and the ball.
Down 17 - 9 going into the 4th quarter David Carr ran a QB sneak from th 1 yard line and scored.
Then the gladiators went for two and got the conversion on a running play by Sproles.
The Kings would tie it with 1:05 on the clock, but Sproles with a kickoff return to th 35 yard line put Alabama in good Field position.
Then 2 key passes would win them the game.
As Carr threw one over the middle to Dante Hall. They reached the 35 yard line. Then another pass with 0:08 seconds left to Michael Matthews (named the game's MVP) who ran for 10 yards and got out of bounds around the 8 yard line.
Then former NFL great, Mike Vanderjagt kicked a 17 yard field to win the game!
