Gladiators win on Throwback Night!

It was a slow game but behind the leg of Mike Vanderjagt, the Gladiators beat the Nightmare 9 - 6 at home. The Gladiators wore the Birmigham Fire uniforms from the 1991-92 semi-pro football team that was in the World League of Football, which letter became known as the NFL Europa. Here is a Shot of Vanderjagt kicking his 50 yard Field Goal.

The Gladiators Comeback to Win Game Opener!!!

Alabama led by David Carr came back from a 17 - 7 halftime score to win against Memphis on New Year's Eve night, led by thier defense they turned a bad play into a great play.

On 3rd and goal in th 3rd quarter Darren Sproles fumbles on the one yard line. It was recovered by Memphis.

However the Kings tryed a run play up the middle and Grady Jackson takled the back in the endzone for a safety. Giving the Gladiators 2 points and the ball.

Down 17 - 9 going into the 4th quarter David Carr ran a QB sneak from th 1 yard line and scored.

Then the gladiators went for two and got the conversion on a running play by Sproles.

The Kings would tie it with 1:05 on the clock, but Sproles with a kickoff return to th 35 yard line put Alabama in good Field position.

Then 2 key passes would win them the game.

As Carr threw one over the middle to Dante Hall. They reached the 35 yard line. Then another pass with 0:08 seconds left to Michael Matthews (named the game's MVP) who ran for 10 yards and got out of bounds around the 8 yard line.

Then former NFL great, Mike Vanderjagt kicked a 17 yard field to win the game!

Alabama Gladiators unveil Logos/Uniforms!

Alright so around I week ago I reported what the Gladiators Jerseys/Pants and Helmets will look like, but today they had a press conference so they could release the logos and such to the public, they showed the logo sheets and handed them out. All the logos have stayed the same since I have seen them.

I think they are nice, he said that the Gladiator helmet is the logo that will be used on the helmets, and most t-shirts and collectibles. The AG with a sword mounted on it is a secondary and is the pants logo, It will be used on t-shirts as well, but will not likely ever be a helmet logo. However the sword is seen in many aspects of the uniform, its on the Jerseys, pants and helmet.
Well without further a do here are the 4 main sets for the season!

Home Set

Away Set

Home Alternate

Away Alternate

The Red helmets are for the regular Home and Away sets, the black will be worn with the alternates, The red alt. will probably be worn on Thursday night or Sunday night games, as well as the away alternate which may be worn only against out of conference games.
After the Presentation I went out to the practice field and saw new QB David Carr throwing with Backup QBs Shaun King and Jared Zabransky. Carr had the official Home Jersey on, and I have to say it looks even better on the field. He let me snap a picture of him.
